Navigation Rallies are a fun and challenging form of road-legal motorsport that tests teamwork, navigation, observation, timing, and driving skills rather than speed. Crews consist of a driver and navigator who work together to follow route instructions along public roads while obeying all road rules.

Canterbury Car Club, often in conjunction with the Ratec Club, runs monthly Navigation Rallies on the country roads of Canterbury. Competitors receive route instructions just before they start and must navigate to checkpoints, avoid hidden “traps” built into the instructions and course, and arrive on time. Often described as orienteering in a car, Navigation Rallies are an enjoyable, social motorsport that welcomes both experienced competitors and newcomers alike.
